Accessibility
Östasiatiska museet/The Museum of Far Eastern Antiquities strives to ensure ease of access for all our visitors.
- The entrance area of the Museum is accessible via a ramp to the outer door.
- All floor levels are accessible by lift.
- A wheelchair is available for use in the museum.
- There are disabled toilet facilities in the entrance area.
- In certain places the light in the different exhibitions is limited, even creating an impression of darkness. This is partly due to certain objects being sensitive to light and partly for purposes of presentation.
- In the exhibition China before China, you can see a Stone Age village in miniature. Here one can handle a genuine Stone Age axe, put one's hand down a miniature grave and touch an authentic jade stone. The explanatory text for the Stone Age village is in Braille.
- The museum's auditorium is equipped with a hearing loop.
- Guide system for users of hearing aids:
To improve the sound quality for hearing aid users, we offer the Univox guide system. The system consists of pocket size receivers with neckloop for visitors with hearing aids. Just mention at the reception that you desire a neckloop for your museum visit and the guide will use a microphone. In this way you will make the most of your visit to us!
