Exhibition Korea gallery

Korea

A permanent gallery about Korea, showing artefacts in a unique setting created by the Korean architect Hwang Doojin.

The gallery features a modern and restrained interior design where the paper-covered windows give a real sense of a Korean room. With this initiative, the Östasiatiska museet/Museum of Far Eastern Antiquities hopes to develop a greater understanding and knowledge of Korean culture and history among the general public in Sweden.

In the relatively small gallery can be found artefacts from the 5th century (the Three Kingdoms Era) to the 20th century (end of the Joseon Dynasty). Contemporary Korea is otherwise reflected in exhibitions throughout the museum.
